Applied Sectoral Scopes and Status of Accreditation

The Sectoral Scopes of Accreditation which JCI has applied to the CDM Executive Board at present are indicated as below.

  1. Energy industries (renewable - / non-renewable sources)
  2. Energy distribution
  3. Manufacturing industries
  4. Chemical industry
  5. Metal production
  6. Fugitive emissions from fuels (solid, oil and gas)
  7. Waste handling and disposal

JCI has been assigned as an applicant operational entity (AE) which can apply new methodologies for baseline and monitoring of CDM project activities to the CDM Executive Board for approval of methodologies since February 2003.

JCI was accredited as the DOE for sectoral scope 13 ,scope 1 and scope 2 of validation at the 19th and 22nd meeting of CDM Executive Board (EB19 and EB22 ) held on May and November 2005.

JCI was accredited as the DOE at the COP/MOP 1 on December 2005.

JCI intends to make continuous efforts to enhance the coverage of sectoral scope for accreditation and designation of DOE as early as possible.

Meanwhile, JCI is also under application for accreditation of Independent Entity (IE) which undertakes Determination of eligibility and Verification of emission reduction of greenhouse effect gases for Joint Implementation (JI) project activities immediately after the official procedure is launched under the Article 6 Supervisory Board of the Kyoto Protocol.
