The proposed project is the installation of Naji Hydro Power Generating Plant with a capacity of 66MW at Tianyang County, Baise area of Guangxi Province. Naji Power Plant is expected to generate 253.242GWh electricity in gross per year, out of which 233.207GWh will be fed to China Southern Power Grid (CSPG) through the Tianyang County Grid and subsequently Guangxi Provincial Grid. As the fourth of the ten cascade power plants along Xijiang River which is a branch of the Pearl River, Naji Power Plant will act as an integral component of the overall Xijiang River water management system, with supplementary functions of navigation and irrigation asides from power generation. The purpose of the proposed project is to generate electricity through renewable sources and to replace the equivalent amount of electricity in CSPG whose generation mix is dominated by fossil fuels. By supplying clean electricity to CSPG, the proposed project will result in an average greenhouse emission reduction of 196,675t/CO2e annually.
